Our official wedding is scheduled for September 2024, but my fiancée, Sayako, and I decided to get married here in Japan to make our eventual move to the U.K. smoother. We had a small but beautiful ceremony, led by my sister and supported by Sayako's sister, at a chapel on the U.S. Airforce base in Tokyo. We invited only our immediate families: both sets of parents, Sayako's grandmother, my sister, and her fiancé.
We arrived with a very loose plan of action, which made the experience all the more fun. We even made on-the-spot decisions, like choosing the music for Sayako's walk down the aisle and asking my sister's fiancé to be our official photographer. After the ceremony, we celebrated with afternoon tea and enjoyed the views of Tokyo. Sayako was keen to combine our cultures, which made the occasion even more special.
I'm incredibly grateful for my new family and my amazing wife. It was a beautiful day, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
