As part of my parents' holiday in Japan, we spent five days in Kyoto, with a day trip to Nara. Sayako joined us for three of those days before having to go back to work. We were extremely lucky with our timing, as the cherry blossom came early this year, meaning we got to experience it in Kyoto. My favourite place to see cherry blossom is in Kyoto, on a path called the 'Philosopher's Walk', which is a river that connects two temples, and there are cherry blossom trees lining the river. It's a very peaceful and calm spot, which is why I like it so much.
It meant a lot to me to show my parents one of the most beautiful places in the world (in my opinion), and I will always fondly remember this trip.
