We went to Kanazawa after the initial COVID-19 wave had calmed its tide — it was a much needed break after being locked in for a while. Prior to visiting, Kumu Kanazawa (one of The Share Hotels’ locations) initially caught my attention with its modernist Japanese design and architecture. Upon our arrival, we were reassured by the strict cleanliness measures taken by the staff, as well as the minimized capacity in the hotel itself, making our socially distanced trip much less complicated. Of course, the beauty of the experience comes with an expected price tag of around 200 USD a night, so we enjoyed our first night in the city at Kumu before spending the rest of our time across the road in the Mitsui Garden Hotel.

If you ever take some time to venture to Kanazawa, I highly recommend choosing this spot to lay your head to rest, and even paying the extra money for the divine Japanese-style room if you can afford to.

For those who want to allocate their money toward other explorations in the city, the cafe inside of the establishment is worth a visit itself, with a menu presenting a range of matcha themed items, two of which we treated ourselves to (the shaved ice and traditional-style tea — I recommend both).
