Ishigakijima (or Ishigaki island) is home to Japan's southernmost city, and is the most operative and civilised isle of the Yaeyama Islands.
It’s a fantastic holiday spot known for it’s beautiful beaches, thriving coral reefs and clear blue waters. We took a short trip of 6 days to the island, although seemingly shorter thanks to a passing typhoon, forcing us to hide away in our Airbnb for the first few days.
The main highlights of the trip were the highest and lowest points of our trip, literally: paragliding high above the island and scuba diving in the waters below.
All shots captured on my Fuji X-Pro2, except the aerial shots on my iPhone 12 Pro and the scuba shots, which were captured by our guide on his special underwater Olympus.
