Everyone told me that the food is great and the people are much more friendly than in Tokyo — both of which are true.

We visited towards the end of November, so we got to see the city covered in beautiful, autumnal foliage. The famed castle grounds of Osaka-jo were particularly stunning, highlighted by golden shades of Ginkgo and shadowed by warm hues of Momiji. While prime visiting time is often claimed by the cherry blossom season, I highly recommend the autumnal version of the city, bringing triple the amount of colour to your camera lens, and significantly less kafunsho (pollen allergy) struggles to your nose.
